The New York Mets lost to the Colorado Rockies 5-1 tonight and dropped their record to 30-33. RHP Jacob deGrom didn't have his best stuff and struggled with command of his secondary pitches. Degrom started out well with two scoreless innings, but gave up an RBI double to Raimel Tapia in the top of the third inning. deGrom had more troubles in the top of the fourth inning after he gave up a single to LF David Dahl and another single to former Met 1B Daniel Murphy. CF Ian Desmond followed with an RBI single to drive in Dahl. deGrom settled down after that with scoreless innings in the top of the fifth and sixth innings. His final line was two runs on six hits in six innings with one walk and ten strikeouts. RHP Robert Gsellman came in next and threw a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Drew Gagnon gave up three runs in the top of the eighth inning on a two-run homer by David Dahl and a solo homer to Daniel Murphy. LHP Hector Santiago got the last out in the top of the eighth. RHP Wilmer Font threw a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
The offense was shut down against Rockies starter RHP Antonio Senzaleta. RF Michael Conforto drove in the only run with a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning.
