Mets vs. Braves Game 83 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 6-2 tonight for their seventh consecutive loss and dropped their record and dropped their record to 37-46. RHP Jacob deGrom gave up three runs on six hits with two walks and seven strikeouts in six innings. deGrom gave up a two-run homer to LF Austin Riley and a sacrifice fly to 3B Josh Donaldson. RHP Wilmer Font followed with a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Robert Gsellman gave up three runs in the top of the eighth inning on a three-run homer to SS Jorge Camargo.

The offense was held scoreless for the first three innings until the bottom of the fourth inning after 1B Pete Alonso hit a solo homer, his 28th homer of the season.  In the bottom of the seventh, catcher Tomas Nido hit a RBI single.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon against the Braves at 4:10 p.m.
