Mets Option Daniel Zamora

The New York Mets have optioned LHP Daniel Zamora to Triple-A Syracuse and recalled RHP Walker Lockett from Syracuse. Lockett is making his Met debut tonight as a starter and had a 3.69 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 15 strikeouts in 31.2 minor league innings this year. He began the year on the IL with elbow soreness. Lockett was acquired this offseason from the Cleveland Indians in return for catcher Kevin Plawecki and made four ML appearances with the Padres last year allowing five runs on nine hits in five innings. Zamora had  a 5.60 ERA in 6.1 innings in the majors this year.
