The Met offense had a scoreless bottom of the first and then in the bottom of the second, RF Brett Baty led off with a double, 1B Mark Vientos followed with an infield hit and 2B Marcus Semien grounded into a double play which brought home a run.
The offense had 1-2-3 innings in the bottom of the third and fourth and had a scoring opportunity in the bottom of the fifth after CF Tyrone Taylor and SS Ronny Mauricio singled with one out, but then 3B Bo Bichette grounded into a double play.
In the bottom of the sixth, DH Juan Soto led off with a single and then catcher Francisco Alvarez followed with a double play.
After a scoreless bottom of the seventh, they had their best scoring opportunity in the bottom of the eighth, after Mauricio led off with a single and then Bichette followed with a single. Two batters later, Alvarez singled to load the bases and then Baty came through with a two-run single.
However, Vientos came up next and lined into a double play to end the threat.
The Met offense went 3-8 with runners in scoring position leaving five runners on base.
RHP Freddy Peralta started out well with four scoreless innings and then gave up a run on a RBI ground-out in the top of the fifth.
Peralta had more troubles in the top of the sixth after he gave up a walk and single and then a RBI double to LF Jake McCarthy. Peralta struck out the following hitter and was then taken out.
His final line was 5.2 innings, seven hits, two runs, three walks and eight strikeouts.
LHP Sean Manaea came in next and picked up the last out in the top of the sixth.
Manaea remained in the game in the top of the seventh and did not have as much as luck allowing a two-run single to RF Troy Johnston.

The Met offense got off to a fast start in the bottom of the first after SS Bo Bichette lead off with a single, DH Juan Soto followed with a walk and three batters later, RF Brett Baty delivered with a three-run homer.
In the bottom of the second, 2B Marcus Semien led off with a double and two batters later, LF Carson Benge doubled. Bichette then struck out, but Semian scored on a passed ball by catcher Ryan Jeffers and Bichette reached first.
Bichette then stole second and LF Juan Soto followed with a walk. Catcher Francisco Alvarez followed with a sacrifice fly to score Benge and then CF Luis Robert Jr drove in Bichette with a RBI double.
In the bottom of the fourth, Benge led off with a homer.
The Met offense was held scoreless for the next three innings until the bottom of the eighth after Baty led off with a single and then pinch-hitter Tyrone Taylor sacrificed Baty over to second base,
Semien followed with a single and after SS Ronny Mauricio flew out, pinch-hitter Tommy Pham walked to load the bases.
Baty came up next and delivered his first signature moment as a Met with a bases-clearing game winning double.
RHP Christian Scott made his first start since coming off 2024 elbow surgery and had a difficult top of the first with three straight walks which lead to a based loaded walk.
Scott's struggles continued in the top of the second after he gave up a lead-off walk and then committed a balk and a hit by pitch and was then taken out.
RHP Tobias Myers came in next and picked up the last two outs in the top of the second and had a scoreless top of the third.

RHP Huascar Brazoban came in next and gave up a grand slam to catcher Ryan Jeffers.
In the top of the ninth, in a bizarre situation, closer Devin Williams started to come into the game out of the bullpen, but Brazoban came out of the dugout and headed toward the mound so he had to face at least one batter. Brazoban retired the first batter he faced and then came out.
Williams came on and had another shaky outing allowing three hits with one out, but then struck out LF Trevor Larnach on his "airbender' change-up to close out the game and picked up his first win of the year.

The Met offense got on the board right away in the bottom of the first after SS Bo Bichette lead off with a double and three batters later, SS Francisco Lindor drove in Bichette after reaching first on an infield single.
The offense was held scoreless for the next two innings until the bottom of the fourth after Lindor reached on another infield hit with one out and then catcher Francisco Alvarez followed with a RBI double. Lindor left the game after the bottom of the fourth with calf tightness.
In the bottom of the sixth, they had an opportunity after 1B Mark Vientos walked with two outs and then 2B Marcus Semien doubled, but Vientos was thrown out at the plate by a healthy margin and ignored the stop sign put up by third base coach Tim Lieper. Vientos made a poor choice considering how slowly he runs.
In the bottom of the eighth with two outs, 3B Brett Baty walked and Alvarez followed with a nine-pitch walk of his own. Vientos came up next and made up for his baserunner blunder with the game-winning bloop single to right field.
RHP Clay Holmes had another solid start allowing two runs on five hits in seven innings. He gave up one walk with three strikeouts. Holmes's ERA through five starts is 2.10.
LHP Brooks Raley followed in the top of the eighth and picked up two outs, but also gave up a single and walk and was taken out.
