Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil and RHP Jacob deGrom Selected to All Star Game

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso, infielder/outfielder Jeff McNeil and starting pitcher RHP Jacob deGrom were all selected to the 2019 National League All-Star  team. Alonso is the first Mets rookie position player to make the All-Star team. The only other rookies to make the team were pitchers Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman and Dwight Gooden. Alonso has has a spectacular rookie season hitting with 28 home runs, which sets the club record for a Mets rookie and the first rookie with 28 homers before July 1st. McNeil has an awesome year in his own right hitting .344 with six homers and 32 RBI's. This will be the third all-star game for deGrom after he made it last year in his Cy Young season as well as 2015. deGrom has a 3.32 ERA, 1.107 WHIP and 11.2 K/9.
