Mets Recall Chris Flexen

The New York Mets have recalled RHP Chris Flexen from Triple-A Syracuse and designated LHP Hector Santiago for assignment. Santiago struggled this year with a 1-0 record and 6.75 ERA. If he clears waivers, Santiago can be released or outrighted to Triple-A. Flexen was recently converted to a reliever and threw two scoreless innings in Syracuse with a strikeout. Flexen will be asked to provide some stability to a bullpen that has has a lot of problems in the late innings.
