Mets Acquire Brooks Pounder

Mets Reliever RHP Brooks Pounder (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com)



The New York Mets have acquired reliever RHP Brooks Pounder from the Cleveland Indians for cash considerations. Pounder has appeared in 24 games for Triple-A Columbus this year with a 2-1 record and one save with a 2.31 ERA in 35.0 innings with 11 walks and 46 strikeouts. He has appeared in 38 career Major League games with the Royals, Angles, and Rockies with of a record of 3-2 and 8.92 ERA. Pounder signed a minor league deal with the Indians before the season and was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the 2009 MLB Draft. RHP Tim Peterson and  LHP Hector Santiago were designated for assignment to make room for Pounder on the roster.
