New York Mets RHP Seth Lugo has been placed on the 10-day IL with right shoulder tendinitis. Lugo has done well this year after a slow start with 13.1 scoreless innings and 16 strikeouts. Infielder Jed Lowrie has been placed on the 60-day injured list and LHP Hector Santiago has been called up from Triple-A Syracuse. Santiago is 3-1 with a 3.35 ERA in 8 appearances.
