Mets Outfielder Keon Broxton (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com)
The New York Mets announced today that they have designated outfielder Keon Broton for assignment. This move makes room for outfielder Carlos Gomez on the 40 man roster after they purchased his contract today from Triple-A Syracuse. The Mets made other moves today after recalling reliever RHP Paul Sewald from Triple A and placed OF Michael Conforto on the 7-day concussion injured list. Broxton was acquired in the offseason in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers for RHP Bobby Wahl, RHP Adam Hill and infielder Felix Valerio. He is out of options and can refuse a minor league assignment if he clears waivers. Broxton struggled at the plate hitting .143 in 34 games for the Mets this year.
