Jason Vargas Placed on IL

The New York Mets announced today that LHP Jason Vargas is heading to the injured list (IL) after he had hamstring tightness in his start against the Brewers on Sunday. Vargas has a 5.92 ERA this year and a 3.00 ERA in his last four outings.  LHP Justin Wilson was activated off the IL as corresponding roster move.

In other roster moves, RHP Corey Oswalt was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and RHP Tim Peterson was optioned to Syracuse.
