Mets vs. Dodgers Game 56 Recap

Mets SS Amed Rosario (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com)

The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 last night and dropped their record to 27-29. LHP Jason Vargas gave up an RBI double to 3B Max Muncy in the bottom of the first inning, but settled down after that. After that, Vargas settled into a nice groove and had his best outing of the season. His final line was 7 innings, 6 hits, ER, 3 BB and 6 strikeouts. He kept the Dodgers off balanced with his change-up and 85 mph fastball and they struggled with his change of speeds. LHP Hector Santiago came in next and gave up a RBI single to 1B David Freese.

The offense was shut down against Dodgers LHP Hyun-Ju Ryu. They had several scoring opportunities, but weren't able to capitalize.  They had only four hits.
