Mets vs. Dodgers Game 54 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-3 last night and improved their record back to .500 at 27-27. RF Michael Conforto came through in the top of the seventh inning after he broke the game open with a grand slam against Dodgers LHP Scott Alexander. Conforto also drove in a run in the top of the first inning after he grounded into a fielder's choice which brought home a run. 3B Todd Frazier hit a solo homer to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the third. SS Amed Rosario hit a RBI triple in the top of the eighth.

LHP Steven Matz gave up two runs on four hits in six innings. Matz's only runs came on a two-run homer to RF Cody Bellinger in the bottom of the third inning. He gave up three walks and had six strikeouts. Matz picked up his fourth win. RHP Robert Gsellman followed and gave up a RBI single to pinch-hitter Max Beaty, but didn't give up any more runs. RHP Jeurys Familia came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP Edwin Diaz pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.

The Mets next game is tonight against the Dodgers at 10:10 p,m.
