Mets vs. Brewers Game 32 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 3-1 tonight and dropped their record to 16-16. LHP Steven Matz had a decent outing allowing three runs on nine hits with one walk and two strikeouts in 5.2 innings. RHP Robert Gsellman came in next with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning and retired CF Lorenzo Cain to end the inning. Gsellman stayed in for the bottom of the seventh and threw a scoreless innings. LHP Luis Avilan followed in the bottom of the eighth inning and faced three batters due to an injury and was taken out and responsible for the runner on third base. RHP Drew Gagnon had to come in to get the last out in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The offense struggled against Brewers starter RHP Brandon Woodruff. Catcher Wilson Ramos drove in a run in the top of the first inning on an RBI single, but other than that the bats were silent. They had seven hits for the whole game and were 1-7 with runners in scoring position.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night against the Brewers at 7:05 p.m.
