RHP Hansel Robles got the first two outs in the top of the eighth inning, but gave up the go-ahead homer to 1B Ian Desmond, his second on the day. Ramos came back out for the top of the ninth inning and pitched a scoreless inning.
The offense started out well in the bottom of the first inning after CF Juan Lagares and LF Yoenis Cespedes singled to lead off the inning. 2B Asdrubal Cabrera drove in Lagares with an RBI single and 3B Todd Frazier followed with a sacrifice fly. After that, The Mets only had three baserunners from the second inning to the eighth inning. In the bottom of the ninth inning, 1B Wilmer Flores walked and pinch hitter Adrian Gonzalez walked, but catcher Tomas Nido stuck out against Rockies closer Adam Ottavino to end the game.
