LHP Steven Matz started out well with three scoreless innings, but had to come out in the bottom of the fourth inning after his warmup pitches due to discomfort in his middle finger. RHP Paul Sewald came in next in relief and gave up a RBI single to LF Charlie Culverson, but was able to escape out of further trouble and leave the bases loaded. Sewald bounced back with a 1-2-3 bottom of the fifth inning. LHP Jerry Blevins followed and threw a scoreless bottom of the sixth inning, but gave up an RBI single to RF Nick Markakis in the bottom of the seventh inning. RHP Jacob Rhyme had to come to get the last out in the bottom of the seventh inning. Rhyme stayed in for the bottom of the eighth inning and gave up an RBI ground-out to pinch-hitter Preston Tucker. He then allowed a two-run game tying triple to CF Ender Inciarte. He was able to get out of the jam by striking out 2B Ozzie Albies, walked 1B Freddie Freeman and then got Markakis to fly out with the based loaded to end the inning. RHP Gerson Bautista gave up a walk-off homer to 3B Johan Camargo with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning.
The Mets next game is tonight against the Braves at 7:35 P.M.
