The New York Mets have drafted OF Jarred Kelinic from Waukesha High School (Wisconsin) with th sixth pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. Kelinic was the only high school outfielder in his class to make the first-team in Baseball America preseason All-America Vote. He is regarded as the best bat in the 2018 draft. He was the leading hitter on the U.S. national 18-and-under team as a junior in 2016 and was the first player from Wisconsin drafted in the top 10. MLB.com ranked Kelinic as their # 10 ranked prospect in the draft in the draft. Baseball America ranked him 12th and ESPN.com draft expert Keith Law ranked him his 6th best prospect in the draft.
