LHP Jason Vargas

New York Mets LHP Jason Vargas has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a strained calf. RHP Chris Flexen has been called up to replace him. Vargas was supposed to make the start tomorrow against the Dodgers. In nine starts this year, he has an 8.60 ERA. He injured himself while doing conditioning drills the other day. Flexen has a 11.57 ERA in 2.1 innings for the Mets this year. He has a 5.43 ERA for Triple-A Las Vegas in 58 innings.
