In the top of the eighth inning,  deGrom struck out CF Odubel Herrera for the last out of his night. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning. RHP Robert Gsellman pitched a scoreless top of the tenth inning and picked up his sixth win.

The offense was held scoreless for the first nine innings, but finally woke up in the bottom of the tenth. SS Amed Rosario doubled with two outs and 3B Jose Reyes walked. Pinch-hitter Brandon Nimmo stepped up to the plate and hit a three-run walk-off homer.
