Mets Trade Jeurys Familia to A's

RHP Jeruys Familia

The New York Mets have traded closer RHP Jeurys Familia to the Oakland Athletics in exchange for right-handed pitcher Bobby Wahl and third base prospect Will Toffey along with international bonus pool money. Familia was an All-Star in 2016 and led the Majors with 51 saves and a 2.66 ERA. Wahl made his debut last year and appeared in seven games with a 4.70 ERA. He was drafted by the A's in the fifth round of the 2013 draft and has a 2.27 ERA in 34 games in Triple-A this year. Wahl is not ranked among the A's top 30 prospects. Toffey was drafted by the A's in the fourth round of last year's MLB draft and has played only at High-A Stockton in 2018 hitting .244 with five homers and 32 RBI's. He is ranked as the 17th ranked prospect in the A's minor league system.
