Mets vs. Twins Game 149 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-2 today to sweep the series and improve their record to 80-69. They remain a 1/2 game ahead of the San Francisco Giants for the first National League wild card spot. RF Michael Conforto hit a 2 run single. 2B T.J. Rivera hit a solo homer.

RHP Gabriel Ynoa allowed one run in 4 2/3 innings. He had one walk. He had 8 strikeouts. He recorded a no-decison. RHP Erik Goedell came in and got the last out of the top of the fifth inning. He also pitched a scoreless top of the sixth inning. He wound up 1 1/3 scoreless innings. He picked up his second win of the season. LHP Josh Smoker pitched a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Fernando Salas allowed a run and picked up the first two outs in the top of the eighth inning. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and got the last out in the top of the eighth inning. He also pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning. He picked up his second save of the season.
