They remain tied with the St. Louis Cardinals for the second wild card spot. RHP Bartolo Colon pitched a terrific game and allowed 2 runs on on 6 hits in 6 2/3 innings. He gave up six strikeouts and had no walks. He wound up with a no-decision. After Colon was taken out, RHP Addison Reed came in and got the last out in the top of the seventh. Reed came back out in the top of the eighth and allowed a run. LHP Josh Smoker came in next and gave up a single to 1B Freddie Freeman. RHP Jeurys Familia followed and allowed the game-winning run to blow his fifth save and record his fifth loss.
The Mets offense got off to a hot start on a 2 run homer by SS Asdrubal Cabrera in the first inning, but struggled the rest of game. The only other run they were able to score was on a solo homer by catcher Rene Rivera.
