The New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 6-4 tonight to snap their three game losing streak and drop their record to 69-65. They fell two games behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the second wild card spot in the National League. RHP Jacob degrom gave up 3 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings. He gave up four walks and had three strikeouts. Degrom had to come out after five innings due to an undisclosed injury. LHP Josh Smoker came in after deGrom came out and gave up a 3 run homer to CF Christian Yelich.
The Mets offense had a breakout game from RF Jay Bruce who had two RBI. He hit a RBI single and a solo homer. SS Asdrubal Cabrera added a 2 run homer pinch homer in the bottom of the ninth inning.
