Mets vs. Twins Game 147 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Minnesota Twins 3-0 to snap their one game losing streak and improve their record to 78-69. They are now 1 game behind the St. Francisco Giants for the first wild card spot and 1.5 games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals for the second wild card spot. 3B Jose Reyes hit a solo homer. SS Asdrubal Cabrera followed Reyes's home run in the bottom of the third inning with another homer. LF Yoenis Cespedes added an RBI single.

RHP Bartolo Colon was outstanding tonight and pitched 7 scoreless innings. He gave up only three hits and two walks. He had six strikeouts. He picked up his fourteenth win of the season. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his 49th save.
