The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 4-3 tonight in 10 innings to drop snap their six game winning streak and fall to 75-67. They are a 1/2 game behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the second-wild card spot. RHP Erik Goedell gave up a run in the bottom of the tenth and took the loss. RHP Bartolo Colon gave up 3 runs in 6 innings. He allowed one walk and had two strikeouts. He picked up a no-decision. Fernando Salas, Addison Reed, Hansel Robles and Jerry Blevins combined to pitch three scoreless innings.
The Mets offense got off to a fast start with 2 runs in the top of the first inning. 3B Jose Reyes scored on a error. RF Jay Bruce grounded into a fielder's choice which brought home another run. LF Yoenis Cespedes added a solo homer.
