The New York Mets have acquired Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim RHP Fernando Salas in exchange for minor league pitcher RHP Erik Manoah. Salas has posted a record of 3-6 this year with a 4.47 ERA and 7.2 K/9 in 58 games for the Angels this year and has pitched a lot better in the 2nd 1/2 of the season. He will help the Mets have more depth out of the bullpen and give them another option to use in the seventh inning along with Hansel Robles.
The Mets are giving up 20 year old RHP Erik Moniah, who was drafted in the 13th round of the 2014 MLB amateur draft. He pitched for Class-A Brooklyn this year with a 5-5 record and a 5.37 ERA and a 9.1 K/9 in 13 games. He has started 12 games this season.
