Mets vs. Nationals Game 145 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Washington Nationals 4-3 tonight in 10 innings and improved their record to 77-68. They remain a 1/2 game ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals for the second wild card spot in the National League. 2B TJ Rivera had a huge game with 3 RBI's. Rivera hit a RBI single, sac fly, as well as the game-winning home run in the top of the tenth inning. CF Curtis Granderson added an RBI triple.

RHP Noah Syndergarrd pitched a dominating game and allowed one run on four hits in seven innings.He had ten strikeouts. He picked up a no-decision. RHP Addison Reed pitched a scoreless eighth inning. RHP Jeurys Familia gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to blow his fourth save of the season, but he still managed to pick up his fourth win of the season. RHP Fernando Salas recorded the first two outs in the bottom of the tenth inning. LHP Jerry Blevins picked up the last out and recorded his first save of the season.
