Mets vs. Royals Game 123 Recap

Mets RHP Jacob deGrom (Credits to MetsMerizedOnline.com)



The New York Mets beat  the Kansas City Royals 4-1 tonight and improved their record to 63-2B Joe Panik drove in the first run of the game with an RBI single in the top of the fifth inning. 1B Pete Alonso delivered the key hit in the game with a two-run single in the top of the seventh. CF Juan Lagares hit a RBI triple in the top of the ninth inning.

RHP Jacob deGrom had another outstanding performance and his final line was 7 innings, 3 hits, one run, two walks and five strikeouts. deGrom picked up his eighth win and lowered his ERA to 2.61. LHP Justin Wilson followed with a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP Seth Lugo closed it out with a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth inning and picked up his third save.

The Mets next game is tomorrow afternoon at the Royals at 2:15 p.m.
