Mets vs. Braves Game 119 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 5-3 tonight for their second consecutive loss and dropped their record to 61-58. RHP Zack Wheeler had a difficult outing allowing five runs on a career-high 12 hits in five innings. RHP Brad Bach came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the sixth inning. LHP Luis Avilan followed and got the first two outs in the bottom of the seventh. RHP Jeurys Familia came in and got the last out in the bottom of the seventh. RHP Drew Gagnon threw  a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.

In the top of the second inning, CF Juan Lagares singled, Wheeler was hit by a pitch and 2B Jeff McNeil drove in Lagares with an RBI single. The bats went quiet after that until the top of the eighth after RF Michael Conforto grounded into a fielder's choice which brought home 1B Pete Alonso. Lagares drove in a run in the top of the ninth after he reached on an infield hit which brought home a run.

Injury News
2B Jeff McNeil left the game in the top of the ninth inning with a tight left hamstring.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night at the Braves at 7:20 p.m.
