Jeff McNeil Placed on IL With Mild Hamstring Strain

New York Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil has been placed on the 10-day IL with a mild hamstring strain. SS Ruben Tejada will be activated from Triple-A Syracuse today and will be McNeil's replacement until he returns. McNeil is hitting .332 with 15 homers and 55 RBI while playing multiple positions including second base, third base, left field and right field. Tejada signed a minor league deal with the Mets in the offseason and is hitting .337 with six home runs and 39 RBI's in Triple-A.
