The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 5-0 for their fourth consecutive win and 12 out of last 13 and improved their record to 58-56. In the bottom of the first inning, LF J.D. Davis singled and 1B Pete Alonso walked. 3B Todd Frazier drove in Frazier with a RBI double. RHP Zack Wheeler had another dominating performance with eight scoreless innings. Wheeler has thrown 17 scoreless innings since the trading deadline and is pitching like he did in the second half of last year. He didn't have his best stuff tonight, but was able to pitch count down after he recorded 13 ground-outs and 4 fly outs. His final line was 8 innings, no runs, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. He picked up his eighth win and lowered his ERA to 4.20. RHP Robert Gsellman closed it out with a scoreless top of the ninth inning.

The Mets next game is at 12:10 p.m. tomorrow afternoon against the Marlins.
