Mets vs. Braves Game 120 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 6-4 tonight for their third consecutive loss and dropped their record to 61-59. LHP Steven Matz had one of his best outings of the year allowing one run on two hits in six innings. Matz gave up one walk and had five strikeouts. He wound up with a no-decision. RHP Seth Lugo came in  next and had his worst performance of the season allowing five runs in 0.1 of an inning. LHP Luis Avialan had to come in to get the last two outs in the bottom of the seventh. RHP Jeurys Familia threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning.

The offense was held scoreless for the first six innings against Braves starter LHP Dallas Keuchel until the top of the seventh after LF J.D. Davis hit a two-run single. In the top of the ninth inning, they rallied after CF Juan Lagares singled, pinch-hitter Joe Panik doubled, SS Amed Rosario singled, and pinch-hitter Luis Guillorme singled. 1B Pete Alonso reached on an error to load the bases, but catcher Wilson Ramos and RF Michael Conforto struck out to end the game.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night at the Braves at 7:20 p.m.
