SS Trea Turner lined out to end the inning. Degrom's final line was two runs ( one earned), four hits, three walks and five strikeouts. He picked up his second win on the season. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and got the first two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning. RHP Robert Gsellman followed to get the last out in the bottom of the seventh on a strikeout. RHP Hansel Robles continued his hot start in the bottom of the eighth inning after he struck out the side. RHP Seth Lugo pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.
RF Jay Bruce scored the only run of the game after Nationals starter RHP Stephen Strasburg committed a balk trying to pick catcher Kevin Plawecki off first base. LF Yoenis Cespedes hit a solo homer in the top of the third inning. CF Michael Conforto hit a two-run homer in his season debut after dealing with a shoulder injury last year. Bruce broke the game open with a grand slam in the top of the seventh inning.
The Mets next game is Saturday, April 7th against the Nationals.
