RHP Clay Holmes started out well with three scoreless innings, but than ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth.
Holmes gave up a lead-off walk to 1B Mall Olson and then gave up a single to DH Marcell Ozuna.
Two batters later, Holmes gave up a RBI single to 2B Ozzie Albies.
Holmes ran into more trouble in the bottom of the fifth after he gave up a lead-off walk to RF Ronald Acuna Jr and two batters later, a single to 3B Austin Riley and then a walk to catcher Drake Baldwin to load the bases and was then taken out.
Holmes's final line was three runs on four hits with five strikeouts and six walks in 4.2 innings.
RHP Huascar Brazoban came in next and walked Albies to bring in a run, but then retired CF Michael Harris II on a ground-out to end the inning.
Brazoban stayed in for the bottom of the sixth and gave up a lead-off infield single to SS Nick Allen and then walked Acuna Jr.
Two batters later, Brazoban walked Riley to load the bases and then gave up a bases-clearing double to Olson and was taken out.
RHP Justin Hagenman came in next and after a ground-out to Ozuna, gave up a RBI single to Baldwin.
Hagenman stayed in for the rest of the game with 2.2 scoreless innings with two hits and a strikeout.
After a scoreless top of the first, CF Tyrone Taylor singled with one out in the top of the second and later in the inning, 3B Ronny Mauricio drove in Taylor with a RBI single.
The Met offense did not do much outside of that with six hits including three singles and two doubles.
They went 1-8 with runners in scoring position leaving six runners on base.
The Mets next game is tomorrow night, Friday, June 20 at the Philadelphia Phillies at 7:15 p.m.
