The New York Mets sent catcher Francisco Alvarez to Triple-A earlier today.

Catcher Hayden Senger has been recalled from Triple-A.

Alvarez has had a difficult season after he broke hammate bone in his left hand in the beginning of the season and caused him to be out until April 25.

He has not hit since returning from injury hitting .236 with three homers and 11 RBI in 35 games.

Alvarez has also had problems defensively with three errors and four passed balls as well as having trouble blocking balls in the dirt and allowed 18 stolen bases out of 27 attempts.

Hopefully Alvarez can figure it out in Triple-A and regain the form that he showed in his rookie year in 2023 hitting 25 homers, but has not that type of power since due to two fractures in his left receiving hand, hitting 11 homers in 2024 and three this season.
