The New York Mets announced prior to today's game that RHP Tylor Megill was placed on the 15-day IL with right biceps inflammation and will undergo an MRI today.

Megill is coming off his worst outing of the season against the Washington Nationals allowing eight runs in only 1 1/3 innings.

The MRI later showed right biceps tendinitis, so there's fortunately no structural damage.

The Mets are going to hold Megill back from throwing for a few days and then reassess.

RHP Colin Holderman was called up from Triple-A Syracuse as corresponding roster move.

Holderman is a six-foot seven former ninth-round pick with 13 strikeouts in 12 1/3 innings.
