The New York Mets announced today that outfielder Travis Jankowkski has been placed on the 10-Day IL with a left 4th metacarpal fracture. Jankowski is expected to be out 6-8 weeks.

He was hitting .209 with three stolen bases along with excellent defense prior to the injury.

Manager Buck Showalter said that Jankowski broke his hand diving for a ball in the outfielder against the Giants.

RHP Stephen Nogosek and RHP Yoan Lopez were called up as corresponding roster moves after LHP Thomas Szapucki was sent down to Triple-A Syracuse yesterday.
