The New York Mets lost to the Colorado Rockies 11-3 tonight at Coors Field in the second game of a doubleheader and dropped their record to 27-15.

RHP Trevor Williams got off to a tough start in the bottom of the first after he gave up a lead-off single to RF Connor Joe and two batters later a two-run homer to 1B C.J. Cron.

Williams's struggles continued in the bottom of the second after hit 2B Brendan Rogers to lead off the inning and then three batters later, allowing a two-run homer to catcher Brian Serven.

Williams settled down after that with scoreless innings in the bottom of the third and fourth and was taken out after the inning.

His final line was 4 innings, 3 hits, 4 runs, 0 walks and 2 strikeouts.

RHP Adonis Medina followed and started out well with a scoreless bottom of the fifth, and came back for the bottom of the sixth, where he allowed five runs and did not get out of the inning.

RHP Jake Reed came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the seventh.

LHP Joely Rodriguez threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth.

After a scoreless top of the first, 3B Eduardo Escobar walked with one out in the top of the second and DH J.D. Davis followed with a single.

Catcher Tomas Nido then reached on an infield single which brought home a run and CF Brandon Nimmo followed with a sacrifice fly.

After scoreless innings in the top of the third, fourth and fifth, LF Mark Canha walked to lead off the top of the sixth and then stole second,.

Three batters later, Davis reached on an infield hit which brought home a run, but was later thrown out at second trying to steal which ended the scoring threat.

The bats did not much after that and went down quietly for the remainder of the game.

The Mets next game is at the Rockies tomorrow afternoon, Sunday May 22th at 3:10 p.m.
