Mets vs. Marlins Game 145 Recap

The New York Mets defeated the Miami Marlins 4-3 this afternoon in the first game of a double-header and improved their record to 67-78. LHP Steven Matz gave up a two-run homer to RF Issac Galloway and another run in the top of the seventh, His final line was three runs on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks in 6.1 innings. RHP Drew Smith came in next and got the last two outs in the top  of the seventh. RHP Anthony Swarsak followed and threw a scoreless top of the eighth inning. LHP Jerry Blevins threw a scoreless top of the ninth inning and picked up his third win.

LHP Steven Matz helped out his own cause with a two-run homer in the bottom of the second inning. The offense was held scoreless until the bottom of the ninth inning after LF Michael Conforto homered to tie the game with two outs and 3B Todd Frazier followed with a walk-off homer.

The Mets will be having another game shortly.
