Mets vs. Marlins Game 160 Recap

The New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 8-1 tonight and dropped their record to 75-85. RHP Corey Oswalt gave up one run on three hits with three walks in four innings. RHP Paul Sewald came in next in the top of the fifth inning and gave up two runs on RBI doubles by 1B Peter O'Brien and CF Lewis Brinson. RHP Drew Gagnon gave up four unearned runs (one earned) in 1.2 innings on five hits, one walk and three strikeouts. RHP Jacob Rhyme gave up an unearned run in the top of the seventh. RHP Tim Peterson threw two scoreless innings in the top of the eighth and ninth innings.

SS Amed Rosario drove in the only run of the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. 3B David Wright made his return tonight as a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the fifth inning and grounded out to third base. This was Wright's first at-bat in a Major League game since May 27, 2016. The offense went 1-5 with runners in scoring position and left eight runners on base.

The Mets next game is tomorrow night at 7:10 P.M.
