Mets vs. Braves Game 157 Recap

RHP Noah Syndergarrd


Last night, the New York Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves 7-3 and dropped their record to 73-84. RHP Noah Syndergarrd bounced back from his previous start and threw six scoreless innings. Syndergarrd allowed three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. RHP Robert Gsellman came in next in the top of the seventh and gave a double to 3B Jorge Camargo and a base hit to catcher Kurt Suzuki which drove in the first run and was then taken out. Gsellman was responsible for runners on first, second and third when he was taken out with one out. RHP Drew Smith followed and gave up a two-run single to LF Ronald Acuna Jr and a walk pitch which brought in another run. Gsellman was charged with allowing four runs in the seventh. LHP Jerry Blevins came in the top of the eighth and gave up three runs on a RBI double by Kurt Suzuki and a two-run homer to 2B Ozzie Albies.

In the bottom of the third inning, 2B Jeff McNeil singled and scored on an RBI double by LF Michael Conforto. 1B  Jay Bruce followed and drove in Conforto with an RBI single. RF Brandon Nimmo walked to lead off the bottom of the sixth inning, CF Austin Jackson singled and catcher Tomas Nido drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

The Mets next game is at 7:10 P.M. tomorrow night against the Braves,
