Mets vs. Giants Game 136 Recap

RHP Noah Syndergarrd

The New York Mets defeated the San Francisco Giants 4-1 this afternoon to take two out of three games in the series and improved their record to 61-75. In the top of the second inning, 3B Todd Frazier doubled and LF Michael Conforto hit a two-run homer. The offense was held scoreless until the top of the eighth inning after catcher Tomas Nido and SS Amed Rosario singled and 2B Jeff McNeil hit a two-run single.

RHP Noah Syndergarrd had a dominating performance throwing a complete game. Syndergarrd gave up a run in the bottom of the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Giants starter RHP Chris Stratton, but other than that shut down the Giants down. He didn't allow a baserunner after the bottom of the fourth inning. His final line was 9 innings, 2 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk and 11 strikeouts.  He picked up his tenth win.

The Mets next game is at the Los Angeles Dodgers tomorrow night at 8:10 P.M.
