Mets vs. Red Sox Game 147 Recap

RHP Noah Syndergarrd


The New York Mets defeated the Boston Red Sox 8-0 tonight for their fourth consecutive win and improved their record to 69-78. The offense jumped on the board early in the top of the first inning after LF Michael Conforto doubled and 1B Jay Bruce hit a RBI double. Bruce broke the game open with a three-run homer in the top of the third inning. 2B Jeff McNeil hit a solo homer in the top of the fourth inning. CF Austin Jackson and SS Amed Rosario hit back-to-back homers in the top of the eighth inning.

RHP Noah Syndergarrd bounced back after a rough start with a dominating performance. Syndergarrd threw seven scoreless innings and allowed three hits and three walks. He had six strikeouts. Syndergarrd picked up his 12th win on the season. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and threw a scoreless bottom of the eighth inning. RHP Tyler Bashlor closed it out with a scoreless botom of the ninth inning.

The Mets next game is against the Red Sox tomorrow afternoon at 4:05 P.M.
