The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 11-4 tonight and dropped their record to 62-78. LHP Jason Vargas started out well with two scoreless innings, but gave up two runs in the bottom of the third and three in the bottom of the fourth inning. His final line was 5 runs (4 earned), on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts. RHP Corey Oswalt gave up 5 runs in the bottom of the seventh. RHP Jacob Rhyme gave up a run in the seventh.
3B Todd Frazier singled in the top of the second inning and 1B Jay Bruce hit a two-run homer. In the top of the third inning, 2B Wilmer Flores singled and LF Michael Conforto hit a two-run homer.
The Mets next game is at 7:35 P.M. against the Dodgers tomorrow night.
