The New York Mets lost to the San Francisco Giants 6-5 today to drop their record to 16-17, but were still able to take the series and winning two out of three games. RHP Jeurys Familia came in for the save, but got into trouble after 3B Wilmer Flores bobbled and made an error on what should have been a game-ending double play that would have ended the game. Familia allowed a 3 run based clearing double to Giants SS Christian Arroyo. He was taken out after giving up 4 runs ( 3 earned) in the inning. RHP Rafael Montero came in and got the last two outs in the top of the ninth.
