The New York Mets lost to the Miami Marlins 7-0 today in the series finale and dropped their record to 14-16. The Mets were still able to take the series after winning two out of three games. LHP Adam Wilk was called from Triple-A to make a spot start and replace RHP Matt Harvey who was suspended for three games. Wilk got off to a rocky start after he allowed a 3 run homer to RF Giancarlo Stanton in the top of the first inning. Wilk gave another homer to Stanton in the top of the fourth. He also allowed a homer to SS Adeiny Hechavarria in the fourth. Wilk ended up allowed four runs on eight hits in 3 2/3 innings. RHP Paul Sewald came in to relieve Wilk and allowed one run in 3 2/3 innings. He had six strikeouts. LHP Josh Edgin pitched a scoreless top of the eighth inning. RHP Fernando Salas and LHP Josh Smoker combined to pitch a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
The Mets offense was lifeless for the entire game and managed only one hit.
