Last night, the New York Mets lost to the San Diego Padres 6-5 and dropped their record to 18-26. RHP Robert Gsellman got the start and had his best outing in a while. Gsellman allowed three runs on six hits in six innings. He had three strikeouts and gave up one walk. Gsellmen was taken out after six innings with 84 pitches and wound up with a no-decision. RHP Fernando Salas came on in the top of the seventh and loaded the bases. RHP Neil Ramirez came in next and allowed a two run single to Wil Myers. LHP Josh Edgin followed and got the last out in the top of the seventh. LHP Josh Smoker gave up the go-ahead home run to Hunter Renfroe in the top of the eighth.
The Mets offense got a big hit from 3B Wilmer Flores who hit a based-clearing double in the bottom of the fourth. CF Curtis Granderson added a RBI single in the bottom of the fourth. LF Michael Conforto hit a RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.
