The New York Mets lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4 for their sixth straight loss and dropped their record 16-22. LHP Tommy Millone made his second start for the Mets and sixth overall this year. Millone allowed five runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. He allowed three walks and had four strikeouts. RHP Paul Sewald came in next and got the last out in the bottom of the sixth. He also pitched a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning with two strikeouts. RHP Fernando Salas went out for the bottom of the eighth inning and recorded the first two outs. LHP Jerry Blevins picked up the last out in the inning.
RF Curtis Granderson led the Mets offense with 2 RBI's. Granderson drew a based-loaded walk in the top of the second inning and hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth. Catcher Rene Rivera added a 2 run homer in the top of the seventh.
