The New York Mets lost to the Los Angeles Angels 12-5 today to drop their record to 18-24. LHP Tommy Millone made his third start as a Met and was unable to make it out of the top of the second inning. Millone allowed eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings. Millone gave up seven hits and had two walks with three strikeouts. He has recorded an 11.25 ERA in three starts since becoming a Met. RHP RHP Rafael Montero came in next and allowed one run on two hits with three walks in 3/2 innings. RHP Neil Ramirez pitched a scoreless top of the seventh inning. RHP Hansel Robles allowed three runs on a three-run homer in the top of the eighth. RHP Paul Sewald pitched a scoreless top of the ninth inning.
The Mets offense had a strong power surge today with three home runs. SS Matt Reynolds hit his first homer of the season after he was inserted late into the lineup. CF Curtis Granderson hit a solo homer. RF Jay Bruce hit a three-run homer.
