Matt Harvey Suspended For Three Days
The New York Mets announced earlier this morning that RHP Matt Harvey was suspended for three days without pay for violating team rules and was sent home by the team. Harvey was supposed to make the start today against the Miami Marlins. 29 year old LHP Adam Wilk from the Triple A Las Vegas 51's was called up for a spot start in place of Harvey. Wilk made his major league debut with the Detriot Tigers in 2011 and was last pitched in the Major Leagues in 2015 for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Wilk signed with the Mets this offseason on a minor league deal and posted a record of 2-3 and an ERA of 5.91 in six starts for the 51's.
