The New York Mets lost to the Milwaukee Brewers today 11-9 after blowing a 7-1 lead. The Mets were swept in the series and dropped their record to 16-20. RHP Jacob deGrom got the start and allowed four runs in six innings. He had seven strikeouts. LHP Jerry Blevins came in next and gave up a 2 run homer to centerfielder Keon Broxton. RHP Fernando Salas allowed a run in the bottom of the sixth inning. Salas came back out for the bottom of the seventh inning and allowed another run. LHP Josh Edgin allowed a run in the bottom of the eighth. RHP Addison Reed followed in the eighth and blew his first save of the year. Reed allowed a 2 run single to leftfielder Hernan Perez and a three-run homer to Brewers backup catcher Manny Pena.
LF Michael Conforto got the Mets offense off to a good start with a solo homer in the top of the third inning. Conforto also hit a 2 run double in the top of the fifth. Conforto had 3 hits with 3 RBI's and was a single shy of hitting for the cycle. 2B Neil Walker continued his torrid series with a two-run double and RBI single. Catcher Rene Rivera hit a 2 run single in the top of the fourth inning. TJ Rivera added a RBI triple in the top of the eighth inning.
